The particular way in which From the Four Directions accomplishes this is through creating and supporting local, on-going leadership circles focused on life-affirming leadership. Future Search A strategic planning process used world-wide in diverse cultures to achieve shared goals and fast action. Future search leads to cooperative planning that lasts for years. GreenNet - Networking for the Environment, Peace, Human Rights and Development Established in 1986, GreenNet is a not for profit collective, dedicated to supporting and promoting groups and individuals working for peace, human rights and the environment through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Highlander Research and Education Center Since 1932, Highlander has gathered workers, grassroots leaders, community organizers, educators, and researchers to address the most pressing social, environmental and economic problems facing the people of the South. Highlander sponsors educational programs and research into community problems, as well as a residential Workshop Center for social change organizations and workers active in the South and internationally. Generations of activists have come to Highlander to learn, teach, and prepare to participate in struggles for justice. idealist.org Idealist.org is a portal for everyone interested in nonprofit organizations and issues, nonprofit careers, and volunteering. Idealist provides numerous services to the global community (almost all of them for free) in an effort to connect people, resources and nonprofits around the world. Institute for Alternative Futures The Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) is a nonprofit research and educational organization founded in 1977. IAF and its for-profit subsidiary, Alternative Futures Associates (AFA), specialize in aiding organizations and individuals to more wisely choose and create their preferred futures. IAF works with clients to create forecasts, scenarios, goals and strategies that are the essential tools for transforming organizations to succeed in times of rapid change. Leader to Leader Institute The Leader to Leader Institute has its roots in the social sector and its predecessor, the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management, which in January 2003 transferred its ongoing activities to the new identity. The Leader to Leader Institute furthers its mission "to strengthen the leadership of the social sector" by providing educational opportunities and resources to leaders. Pioneer Institute for Public Policy Research Pioneer Institute, Massachusetts’ leading think tank, promotes research that challenges the “conventional wisdom” on public policy issues. Committed to individual freedom and responsibility, limited and accountable government, and the application of free market principles to state and local policy, Pioneer is known for developing sensible, innovative ideas and converting them into action. Pioneers of Change Pioneers of Change is an emerging global learning community of committed, young people in their 20's and early 30's, from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds. Schumacher College Schumacher College is an international centre for ecological studies based in the beautiful Devonshire countryside of south-west England. The College welcomes participants aged 20 to 80 from all over the world.
