The Institute for Democratic Education takes part in several research and development programmes in Israel and other countries - and they are intertwined throughout our activity in the field.
The Pedagogic Beehive
The Pedagogic Beehive is a division in the Institute for Democratic Education. It was created to advance democratic pedagogy in democratic schools and formal education. It develops teaching/learning methods in democratic education, and helps the teaching staff at democratic schools by developing and implementing innovative teaching/learning methods for them. Open Futures - the European research programme: an international research consortium investigated the operating principles of Future Centres, and developed an operating system for launching and running Future Centres and innovation centres aimed at the future. The institute led the definition of operating models. Visit the project.
The Pedagogue Research Group: convenes every three years; collects many research studies and information on democratic education.
