Noah’s Ark Initiative
An initiative that is run in the Migdalor Preschools based on developing curiosity and creative and critical thinking, encouraging personal, interpersonal and communal dialogue, and fostering children’s ability to cope with difficulties, challenges, and successes.
The Noah’s Ark Initiative operates on the individual level (the children and the preschool teachers), the group level (the children among themselves), and the environment (the community, the parents, and the locality).
This program encourages preschools to develop various different models to advance thinking, dialogue, coping strategies, cooperation, and interaction between the individual and the community.
The models that are develop within this initiative are matched to every type of framework and serve as social models for the entire community. The program encourages educators to work together to develop innovative preschool educational methodologies. Models that have been implemented within the framework of the Noah’s Ark Initiative include place based education (PBE), project based learning (PBL), and intelligence based education (IBE).
The program is currently operating in 10 preschools for ages 3-5 in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ein Nakuba, Ein Rafa, and Holon and is expected to expand next year to additional preschools for ages newborn-3.
The Noah’s Ark Initiative operates in cooperation with Dov Fruman, former CEO of Intel Israel.
